Choir Sessions

Choir sessions are from 7:15-8:45PM.

Our MNjcc Choir meets at the Jewish Community Centre, located at Spadina and Bloor, downtown Toronto (map and address below).

Throughout the 10 week term, we will be learning 5 brand new fabulous choral arrangements, created by our choir directors exclusively for My Pop Choir.

Please note: while we may occasionally make note of and celebrate upcoming Jewish holidays when they align with the choir term, this is not a religiously affiliated choir.  The jcc is a wonderful community centre that supports both Jewish and non-Jewish activities and are excited to welcome us to their space!

One feature of joining a My Pop Choir location is the ability to "choir hop".  This means you can join any choir location during the week and as many times as you like!  This includes our virtual programming, so anytime you need to miss a session, you can attend our virtual choir instead which you can view anytime during the week.  The only exception to this feature is if a choir location fills up to capacity.

All My Pop Choir Members will have access to our Members Only Page.

Here's what you can access:

  • Vocal Warm-Up

  • The Vocal Recordings

  • The Sheet Music

  • An 'All Vocals' MP3 recording of all parts sung together

  • Backing Track

All My Pop Choir Members will have access to our Online Voice Workshops through the duration of the choir term.

Workshops cover various topics from practical approaches on improving the health and quality of your singing voice to in depth analysis of vocal anatomy and breathing techniques.

Throughout the year, we perform at various events throughout the GTA.  It is completely optional and does not interfere directly with choir sessions.  We've performed countless times at the ROM, Royal Botanical Gardens, Breakfast Television, and much much more!

Want to sing in a choral music video?  Each term we put together a music video which will showcase one of our songs of the term.  It's always a huge hit!  See our Performances Page for past music videos.

Covid-19 Safety Protocols

  • Using the valuable information presented in Choral Canada's: We Can Sing Safely's webinar, Public Health Ontario's recommendations, and feedback from past surveys, we have put together a Covid-19 Policy for the return of our in-person choir sessions.  You must read this safety policy prior to starting our In-Person Term.

  • In addition to these protocols, members will have access to online choir sessions in the event that you need to miss a session.

  • In the case that in-person choir sessions are no longer deemed safe by the federal or provincial government, choir will continue online until in-person sessions can resume.

  • Note, the room where we have our choir sessions uses state of the art ventilation, making it as safe as possible for us to sing together indoors.
